Artist Bio

Chai is a ceramicist/psychologist who combines wheelthrowing, handbuilding and other techniques to create complex forms rich with contrast in texture, color, positive and negative space, light and shadow. Drawing on themes of emotion, identity and transformative experiences, she bridges her dual vocations, using clay as a medium for both artistic expression and psychological inquiry. Through her art, Chai aims to spark curiosity, foster dialogue, and cultivate empathy among audiences, and “maximize the fun and learning per pound of clay” for herself.
